When you say “Father†to a child who doesn’t have an earthly father, what is their reaction?
Fatherlessness statistics –
85% of youth in prison grew up without a dad.
When you say, “Heavenly Father†do they want to come to God when they don’t have an earthly father?
Many values today are being taught by school teachers, coaches, peers, but not necessarily the fathers.
Kids will turn to gangs, if they do not have fathers as a role model in their homes. They are surrounded by women as teachers in schools. Where are the good men in their lives?
The generational curses are deep. 90%+ of incarcerated men are in there doing the same crimes as their fathers. Sins of the forefathers are ripping our nation apart.
Psalm 78 – our fathers have told us parables and utter dark sayings of old. Showing us the praises of the Lord, His strength and His wonderful works. The fathers are supposed to teach the children about God.
That they might set their hope in God; not forgetting the works of God, but keeping His commandments: and might not be as their fathers, a stubborn and rebellious generation; a generation that set not their heart aright, and whose spirit was not steadfast with God.
As we get to know our Heavenly Father, we can become good fathers.
